You can set up a rule that holds outgoing messages in your outbox for one minute (or more) before it is sent. This gives you the chance to go back to it and correct any mistakes/remove the swearword/change the recipient, etc.
To set it up, first go into Outlook Rules and Alerts and start a new rule.
Then select Apply Rule on messages I send (no.1 below):
On the next page, choose for it to be applied to all the messages you send by leaving all the tick boxes blank and clicking ‘yes’ on the confirmation box (no.2 below). Alternatively, you might want to apply it only on specific messages, e.g. ones with ‘invoice’ or ‘quote’ in the subject.
Then you choose how long to defer delivery (no.3 below) and set the number of minutes. Generally 1 minute is enough.
You can add exceptions on the next page if you want, give the rule a name and click Finish.
Please note this rule will only be applied to messages sent from Outlook and not to messages sent from your mobile phone.
